State Senator to DA: Please Leave Cannabis Patients Alone

Even though SB 1182 failed, many lawmakers believe it’s only a matter of time before Pennsylvania adopts a medical cannabis law. With that in mind, State Senator Daylin Leach (D) wrote a letter asking the DA to “perform an act of compassion” and not prosecute patients for using medical cannabis. Think of the mom who puts her seizure-ridden daughter to bed each night not knowing if she’ll still be breathing in the morning and the suicidal veteran who needs cannabis to cope, the letter urges.
